Its December! And there are so many fun festivities to enjoy! There is snow to play in (depending on where you live), decorations to put up, and yummy holiday food and desserts to eat! Yet, many times our furry friends get left out of the loop when it comes to fun events. If you and your dog are looking for something more than a simple romp in the snow, go no further! I’ve got you covered!
Bringfido.com is a great place to find pet friendly events near you! Search your city and state to see what they can find in your area and have fun browsing their list. Two events in this site stood out to me because they are not just pet friendly, but child friendly as well! So, if it is just you and your dog, or if you want to bring your kids along with you, take a look at these two fun holiday events!
Jingle Bell Run
If you love to be outdoors and want to give to a good cause, check out the Jingle Bell Run! The Arthritis Foundation's Event Page describes this run is a dog and family friendly 5k "run or walk" that helps raise money for the Arthritis Foundation. This run is fun and festive as there is a kid’s run and a costume contest that you can sign up for as well! According to the Arthritis Foundation's Event page, adult tickets are between $35 and $40 dollars depending on the date you sign up. When you sign up, you get a t-shirt and jingle bells to make the run that much more festive!!! For dogs it is $10, and your dog will get a bandana upon signing up for the run!
For those who want to support the cause, but prefer to keep warm inside, bringfido.com mentions that you can sign up for "Jingle in Your Jammies" for $30, which also comes with a shirt! This event takes place in Bellingham, Washington. If you don’t live in Bellingham, Washington, no problem! The Jingle Bell Run is hosted in other cities as well, so look for Jingle Bell Run in your hometown and State! To find more information on the location and pricing, click here or here!

Must haves for Outdoor, Winter Events!
Be sure you and your pets keep warm on your holiday adventures! Jackets and Paw Butter can be extremely helpful during outdoor events like these! If you have never used paw butter, I highly recommend it during winter, especially for those of you who spend a lot of time outside with your dog. Much like cold weather can cause us humans to have dry skin, cold weather can cause dogs' paw pads to dry out as well. Paw Butter helps maintain paw pad health by keeping your dog's pads moisturized!
